J. Serrato is a dynamic saxophonist and composer known for his electrifying live performances, lush tone, and genre-blending sound. Born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, he followed in his father’s footsteps as a bandleader before refining his craft at the University of North Texas and launching his career in Austin.

One of the city’s most in-demand musicians, Serrato has performed with Grammy-winning artists including Jason Mraz, Grupo Fantasma, The BoDeans, Control Machete, and Cristian Castro. His original compositions have been featured in film and television, and his debut album “Let’s Go!” is streaming worldwide.

In October 2025, Serrato headlined the historic Texas Jazz Festival. His latest release, "Brick by Brick", is dedicated to his sons — a personal composition that further showcases his evolving voice as a leading artist in modern jazz, soul, and R&B.
